Interpretation Services
All our professional interpreters are bilingual and have a general knowledge of most situations requiring interpretation although we also employ interpreters with specific experience in most of the major industries including banking, government, production, science and technology.
There are two basic types of interpretation, consecutive and simultaneous.
Consecutive interpreting is a mode of interpreting in which the speaker makes a speech or a few sentences (often classed as liaison interpreting) whilst the interpreter either takes notes or relies on short term memory to reproduce what the speaker has said to the audience. Consecutive interpreters require the ability to listen intently, analyse what the speaker is saying, take structured notes and accurately reproduce into the target language by speech.
Simultaneous interpreting is a mode of interpreting in which the interpreter reformulates speech made by the speaker into a different language simultaneously. This interpreting mode requires additional skills to those of consecutive interpreting. Interpreters must be able to translate under the pressure of speaking at the same time as listening and analysing. The interpreter must therefore be able to anticipate to some degree what the speaker may say, prioritise the major elements of the speech and shortening speech without losing any of the original meaning, context and emotion.
We provide personal interpreting services for individuals, companies and organisations.
For individuals this may be for interpreting in legal or government settings which require the client to understand their requirements or for immigration, medical and more general banking or financial meetings.
For companies and organisations we can organise interpreting services for business meetings, conferences and training together with many other scenarios both on site and remotely.
