Medical Translation
Medical translation is one of the most important types of specialised translation requiring highly qualified and experienced medical translators with substantial technical training and cognisance of the subject sensitivities and the inherent risks of mistranslation.
A large amount of medical terms are derived from Latin or Greek origins however these have been translated in different ways in many different languages. Pharyngitis (sore throat) originates from the Greek word Pharynx and is translated as Faringitis in Spanish but in German the word is the same as in English. Using unqualified medical translators or propriety software translation systems may return significantly different results as the literal translation of sore throat in Spanish is 'dolor de garganta' and in German 'halsschmerzen'. This clearly demonstrates the essentiality of using qualified medical translators.
Some countries have strict regulations governing the approval of drugs and medical procedures. Medical translators must possess current information on all medical related regulations and laws in the target country to avoid potential delays in approval or even rejection.
Our medical translators are experienced in a range of medical text translations including, but not limited to; medical reports, trials and investigations, pharmaceutical and prescriptions, processes and procedures, instructions and safety.
